The Call of Duty Modern Warfare Open Beta Will Be Available on PS4 from EARLY TOMORROW MORNING!

Yes, that’s right, the open beta will actually be running from early Sunday morning for those PlayStation gamers who have not pre-ordered the new title from Activision and Infinity Ward.

I’ve found this out for you by having checked the PlayStation Store on the actual release day (the 14/9) – very early in the morning – only to be met by the ‘unavailable’ banner, much to my demise.

So, officially, PS4 player will be able to have access and download the open beta from 3am AEDT on Sunday the 15th, right up until the early hours of Tuesday morning.

And don’t fear Xbox One and PC players, your time will come next week, with early access available to those who’ve pre-ordered the game at 3am AEDT on Friday the 20th and is then open again for PS4 on the 22nd to the 24th.

The second round of the open beta weekend will feature brand new cross-platform opportunities – a first for the franchise – and is an innovative change to enhance and maintain the multiplayer community.

A variety of multiplayer modes will be available, including the 2v2 Gunfight that was showcased last month in the alpha, and there are of course some of the traditional 6v6 modes like TDM and Domination, all on some fresh, newly fledged maps.

Apparently confirmed by Activision themselves, the beta will eventually reveal a 64 player Ground War mode with frickin’ vehicles, as well as the brand-new ultra-realism mode and night vision gameplay.

After viewing some footage of early access gamers on Twitch, it seems there is a progression system, with an abundance of sleek new weapons and loadouts that are unlockable, all with their various attachments and combat versatility – and of course killstreaks.

So, we Aussies need to hang in there for a few more long, agonising hours yet, and unfortunately this weekend, it's only those with PS4’s who’ll be diving in.

If you’re keen to maybe squad up, add me on PSN: OnAllFours!

This beta ‘fortnight’, so to speak, is an excellent opportunity to get a feel for the new Call of Duty Modern Warfare before it officially releases on October 25 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
